For primary schools

Coding lessons that feel like a game.

KodaKids is a coding game for Primary 1 to Primary 4. Pupils solve short puzzles by giving Koda the pangolin step-by-step instructions. Teachers don't need to know coding, and it runs on the phones and tablets you already have.

Free for 2 weeks for one class of up to 100 pupils. No payment, no card.

What a lesson looks like

The teacher shows the class code. Each pupil taps their name, then their two secret pictures, and carries on from where they stopped. Pupils work at their own pace while the teacher sees who needs help.

What pupils learn

Each world teaches one idea, through play rather than lectures.

A market stall from World 1, Market Day

World 1: Market Day (free)

Sequencing: putting steps in the right order to deliver yams, mangoes and tomatoes to market stalls.

A wooden jetty from World 2, River Crossing

World 2: River Crossing

Loops: spotting a pattern and using Repeat instead of writing the same steps again and again.

More worlds follow, each adding one new idea, such as turning and “if” decisions.

What teachers get

  • A class code. Pupils log in by tapping their name and two pictures, with no email or password.
  • A progress view: every pupil's levels, stars and hints used, so you can see who needs help.
  • One tap to unlock a pupil after too many wrong tries, or to give them new pictures if they forget.
  • Works on shared devices, and after the first visit levels keep working without internet.
  • Spoken instructions and picture clues, so pupils who are still learning to read can take part.

Questions schools ask

What is in the free school pilot?

Two weeks of full access for one class of up to 100 students, at no cost. Your teacher gets class login codes and a progress view. At the end you decide whether to buy seats.

What devices do we need?

Any phone, tablet or computer with a web browser. Students can share devices: each one logs in with their class code and picture password. After the first visit, levels keep working without internet.

What if a student leaves during the term?

Seats belong to the school, not the child. When a student leaves, their seat can go to a new student for the rest of that term.

Can we pay by bank transfer?

Yes. Schools can ask for an invoice from their dashboard (or email billing@kodakids.online) and pay by bank transfer. When online payment is switched on for your account, you can also pay by card or bank transfer through Bachs, our payment processor.

Is children's data safe?

We keep as little as we can: a first name and last initial, a picture password and their game progress. No email address, phone number or surname for children, and no ads. Only their own teacher, school or parent can see their progress. We follow the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023 and delete a child's data when a parent or school asks: email privacy@kodakids.online.
